  • Baltasar Aroso, Panellist
    Baltasar Aroso is Co-Founder and Lead Engineer at BitFashioned SEZC and Technical Lead for Blockchain Development at LAMINA1. With a strong background in software development, networking, and blockchain innovation, Baltasar specialises in architecting scalable and secure digital solutions for Web3 and emerging technologies. Passionate about pushing the boundaries of blockchain and digital currency integration, he leads strategic initiatives and fosters collaborations with key industry players to drive technological advancement. Baltasar also bridges product vision with engineering execution, ensuring that technical developments align with business objectives. 

  • Michael Bacina, Panellist
    Michael Bacina is Executive in Residence at Global Digital Finance and a dual-admitted lawyer in Australia and the Cayman Islands with nearly two decades of experience in digital law, focusing on Web3, DeFi, DAOs, RWA tokenisation, and digital currencies. A former tech entrepreneur, he combines legal expertise with technical insight to help technology businesses navigate complex regulatory landscapes. He is Deputy Chair of the Blockchain Association of the Cayman Islands and formerly served as Chair of the Digital Economy Council of Australia. Michael is also a frequent global speaker and co-author of a forthcoming LexisNexis textbook on digital asset regulation.

  • Daniel Botha, Panellist
    Daniel is a Blockchain Engineer at RSM Cayman, bringing over nine years of expertise in the blockchain ecosystem and seven years in process control and automation engineering. With a background in chemical engineering, he has designed algorithms for model predictive controllers and developed data integration and analysis tools for industries including environmental engineering, mineral processing, and power generation. At RSM, Daniel leads development teams to create advanced tools for data collection, DeFi analysis, and ownership analysis, enabling auditors, fund administrators, and directors to access reliable digital asset data. Previously, he worked at KPMG Cayman, where he built audit tools for digital assets, including block explorers and exchange API integrations, and co-founded HASH Consulting and HASH Data in 2021, a data-focused digital asset company serving institutional clients. A Certified Bitcoin Professional (C4, 2019), Daniel is a passionate advocate for blockchain innovation, contributing thought leadership on topics like Bitcoin’s Taproot upgrade, DeFi ecosystems, and Proof-of-Stake transitions. His work bridges technical expertise with practical solutions, driving the adoption of decentralized technologies in the financial services industry.

  • Sarah Wheeler, Panellist
    Sarah is a Director at Marfire. She provides independent directorship services to foundation companies / DAOs, funds, and OpCo’s who have a web3 strategy. Sarah practised as a lawyer for 12 years before joining the U.K. regulator (the FSA), and has most recently served as the Head of the Anti-Money Laundering Division at the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA). Through Sarah's work at the FCA, in 2015 her department was tasked with finalising the new AML/CFT regulations for virtual asset service providers (VASPs).

    She worked closely with overseas regulators and U.K. Government stakeholders such as HM Treasury. More recently at CIMA, Sarah helped establish the AML/CFT supervisory regime for VASPs in Cayman and was responsible for enforcement actions against potential VASPs as well as contributing to multiple successful VASP registrations. She also prepared the first AML/CFT risk assessment of VASPs in Cayman and also helped establish a methodology for assessing and collecting Travel Rule information. Sarah is a passionate supporter of innovation and in the Web3 space and believes the Cayman Islands is the ideal location to support top tier, blockchain-driven business and DAOs.
