AI for Parents: Raising Children in an AI-Driven World

Wednesday, 16 September 2026 • Signal House off Fairbanks Road • 5:30pm Doors Open • Free Admission
with Stephen Ta'Bois and Mary P. Davies

This AMA (ask me anything) session is about helping parents navigate AI at home, not by trying to become technology experts but by understanding how their children are using it, where the risks are and how to have better conversations about it.

We’ll look at the questions parents should be asking when AI is being used for schoolwork, how to understand what skills children are actually developing and how to recognise when AI is helping versus doing the thinking for them.

We’ll also explore technology use across the household, what to do when something goes wrong and how tools like a family tech agreement can help establish healthy expectations around AI and technology.

What to expect:

  • Questions to ask your child about how they’re using AI for schoolwork

  • A simple technology safety audit for your household

  • How to respond when something goes wrong — without shutting down the conversation

  • What a family tech agreement is and how to create one

  • A practical look at how AI may influence future study and career choices

  • An introduction to AI tools and how families can use them responsibly
