Launch Labs Studios - Building IP Around AI

17 March 2026

How to Capture and Protect What You Build

Tuesday, 17 March 2026 • Signal House off Fairbanks Road • 5:30pm Workshop Begins • Free Admission

Most teams building AI features don't realize they're creating valuable intellectual property, until a competitor copies their approach or an investor asks about defensibility during due diligence.

In this session, Chris Clarke will walk through:

  • What's actually protectable in AI systems: models, training processes, data pipelines, novel applications, and user-facing features
  • How to spot and shape IP opportunities as you build—before you ship
  • Practical strategies for capturing trade secrets, filing patents, and building data moats
  • What investors and acquirers look for when evaluating AI-driven IP during technical DD
  • Real examples from SaaS and enterprise AI companies

Whether you're a founder building your first AI feature, a technical leader scaling an AI product, or an investor evaluating deals, you'll leave with a clear framework for turning AI work into defensible, valuable assets.
