AI in Education: Making an Impact

This is an informative session looking at how various AI driven tools can be used to drive educational impact, and how to pick a good tool from the fast-developing AI landscape. During this session we will be looking at Google Notebook LM’s free features including large document summaries, study guides, and podcasting/audio overview. We will then look at the methodology for analysing and using tools based on a seven uses approach on tools such as Mureka and Brisk.

Who is the session for: Educators, parents/guardians and anyone interested in learning a bit more about some of the AI tools on their own learning journey.

About Instructor

 Stephen TaBois B&W Headshot
  • Stephen Ta'Bois has been an educator his entire adult life, having served as science teacher, Key Stage leader, head of physics and marine science and is currently the STEM Specialist for the Department of Education Services (DES) and is responsible for science and computing strategic and policy direction as well as school support and curriculum development in those subjects. Recently he has also been brought on to manage large projects for the DES and Ministry of Education (MOE) as well as taking a key role on development of AI in education.  As a strong advocate for lifelong learning, he has his MBA, Project Manager Qualification, and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Program.

    Stephen has always been passionate about education and keeping up on relevant developments and trends in both education and technology. He has worked with numerous local and international stakeholders to support the development of science and technology education across the Cayman Islands. He played a pivotal role in ensuring access to technology and platforms during Covid related school closures, developing some of the largest Public-Private Partnerships in the country. He firmly believes in providing our students and educators with understanding, skills and opportunities necessary to thrive in the ever-changing Age of AI.
