Brave Software internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in building privacy-first web technologies. As a Software Engineering Intern, you will gain insight into modern browser development, performance optimisation, and the systems that power secure, user-centric web experiences. This is an ideal role for motivated, detail-oriented individuals looking to explore a career in software engineering, develop strong technical skills, and contribute to products that prioritise user privacy and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and testing of browser features using modern C++ (C++20/23)
- Assist with implementing and debugging web technologies (JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS)
- Conduct research on browser performance, web standards, and privacy-focused technologies
- Gain practical experience working on real-world browser development and large-scale codebases
- Develop a strong understanding of how modern web browsers function, including performance and security considerations
- Develop technical proficiency in modern C++ (C++20/23), web technologies, and collaborative development workflows using Git
- Experience developing modern C++20/23
- Understanding of web technologies (e.g. TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and how web browsers work
- Proficiency with Git
- Written and verbal communication skills in English
- Demonstrated ability to complete tasks efficiently
- A passion for helping protect users' privacy and security
Bonus Qualifications/Skills:
- Experience with working on open-source projects
- Familiarity with the Chromium project and its architecture
